The Match (acrylic on canvas) -SOLD This picture was an illustration commission for When Saturday Comes and then became part of my first group exhibition at Stoke Newington Library Gallery. It was painted not long after Euro 2004. Crazy optimism with no basis in reality is an important part of football. The pub is based on the interior of The Auld Shillelagh in Stoke Newington, though widened a bit. Some of the characters are from The Real Psychic Genius Football Prediction Society. << Back
